Estonia; Ida-Viru County; village of Vaivara; Sinim鋏 settlement: flyer of National Comitee Free Germany (German: Nationalkomitee Freies Deutschland) dedicated to German Wehrmacht soldiers to give up war; in Blue Hills Museum (also: Blue Mountains Museum); the small museum in Vaivara is a kind of war museum but could be also a peace museum. It is mostly dedicated to the brutal World War II Battle of Tannenberg Line (Estonian: Sinim鋑ede lahing; German: Schlacht um die Tannenbergstellung); which happened directly after the bloody Battle of the Narva Bridgehead (German: Schlacht um den Narva-Br點kenkopf); from 25th of July; 1944; to 10th of August; 1944; at nearby Sinim鋏d (Blue Hills; Blue Mountains; German: Blaue Berge); caused 180;000 casualties (37 500 killed; the rest wounded); and ended with a tactical German victory; the last bigger German victory in World War II (1939 - 1945). Mainly invovled in the battle were III (Germanic) SS Panzer Corps; and XXVI Army Corps leaded by German SS General and SS-Gruppenf黨rer Felix Steiner; and 2nd Shock Army; and 8th Army leaded by Marshal Leonid Govorov on side of the Red Army. The Blue Hills Museum is as well a memorial place; and shows as well tank traps; weapons; documents; fotos; daily life items of the Estonia occupying Soviet and German armies; and the history of Vaivara and its people. Vaivara was also the place of the biggest German concentration camp; in Estonia; during World War II (KZ Vaivara; 20;000 people imprisoned). There are as well three memorial stones outside the museum; unveiled here; in 2007. These grave stone like memorials have been installed here to comemmorate international SS combat units which fought here in the battle; coming from Flanders (Belgium); Norway; and Denmark. The texts on these memorials are without SS symbols.
