London, England - 2006; This is one of London's least known monument - the great pioneer scientist of Sir Michael Faraday. This great English scientist made major discoveries in electricity and magnetism, paving the way for technologies which dominate the present day. Appropriately enough, the stainless steel monument houses an electricity sub-station. He would certainly have liked that. The building in the distance is the Metropolitan Tabernacle, a Reform church dating from 1650. Talk about contrasts in style, intent and architecture... science meets religion, indeed, with science looking to the future, and religion back to the past. Nice.
