Marrakesh, Morocco - February 2004; An everyday but timeless street scene in the colourful and vibrant city of Marrakesh, Morocco. This is the medina, old town, of course. Founded in 1070 by Emir Abu Bakr ibn Umar as the imperial capital of the Almoravid Empire. Marrakesh is now one of the largest cities in the Kingdom of Morocco, and the capital of the mid-southwestern region of Marrakesh-Safi. It lies west of the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Here we see caeptes hanging in the sun in the Medina - Old Town
