Marrakech, Morocco - February 2004; The historic Koutoubia Mosque is the largest in Marrakesh, Morocco. It was completed under the reign of the Berber Almohad Caliph Yaqub al-Mansur (1184 to 1199), and has inspired other famous Islamic buildings such as the Giralda of Seville and the Hassan Tower of Rabat.Its minaret, which is 73m high, is a prominent landmark of the city.
