Using state-of-the-art brain imaging technology, scientists at the National Institutes of Health have filmed what is happening in the brains of mice that developed cerebral malaria (CM). The findings, published in PLOS Pathogens, produced the processes that lead to the fatal outcome of the disease and prompt antibody therapy that could treat it.
