New Churchill Hospital Built By American Funds Opened By Duchess of Kent -- The Duchess of Kent speaking at the opening ceremony. The Duchess of Kent opened the new Churchill Hospital in Oxfordshire, which has been built by funds raised by the British War Relief Society of America. The American Ambassador, Mr. J.G. Winant, and Mr. Ernest Brown, the Minister of Health, were also present at the ceremony. The new hospital, which has accommodation for 600 patients, is built on a principal which makes it practically bombproof. January 28, 1942.
