Two Gloucester Meteor jet pilots of the Australian 77 Squadron recently paid a visit to the troops of Australian "A" Company to see how the "Diggers" were faring in the front line. They showed some interest in the Bazooka rocket firing gun so the Diggers allowed them to fire it. about to fire the weapon is Sgt. Pilot Allan Avery (Newcastle, NSW). The Digger instructing him is Sgt. Vic Svenson (Belmore, Sydney) and the other pilot looking on is F/Sgt. Bill Middlemiss (Newborough, Vic.). Flying Over the front line, fighter pilots don't see too much of the battle below, so Gloucester Meteor jet pilots of the Australian 77 Squadron, Sgt. Pilot Allan Avery (Newcastle) and F/Sgt. Bill Middlemiss (Victoria) decided to spend their leave visiting troops of the Australian A Company in Korea. September 1, 1951.
