1,100 Feared Dead in Algerian Earthquakes - Inhabitants of Orleansville look at the ruins of the Hotel Baudouin, Orleansville, which collapsed during the earthquake and caused the loss of many lives. More than 1,100 people are believed to have lost their lives in the earthquakes which shook the town of Orleansville and neighbouring districts in Central Algeria last week. So far rescue workers have recovered over 750 bodies but it is certain that abour 400 more are still buries under the piles of masonry. At least 4,000 people are thought to have been injured.
