Syrian President field marshal Husni Zaim and his Premier Mohsen Berazi died before a firing squad at dawn August 14 in Mezzeh Barracks, Ass Amman. They were convicted of treason after a lightning coup d'etatled by Colonel Sami Hennawi, who has assumed power.
