Old Sol Can't Escape From This Sextant -- The Ability to piece clouds on the darkest day is said to make this new MaCneil all-weather sextant a highly significant addition to the existing assortment of navigation devices. The inventor, Paul Humphrey MaCneil, who tested the sextant on the most recent westbound voyage of the S.S. Mauretania, says that it enables the the navigator to get the true altitude of the of the sun at any time time without difficulty as long as the sun is above the Horizon. February 13, 1931.
