Miss Joyce Petherbridge made a dask from her home at Neutral Bay on a friend's motorcycle when she heard the announcement from the Macquarie Sports Hour that a prize would be paid to the first lady to arrive at the -2GB Auditorium in bathing costume. On her arrival she found that two others had beaten her for the prize. The winner was 10 year old Jeanette Kiss who told Clark McKay that she lived in Hunter Street.
