Mothers of four real Eagle Squadron fighter pilots got a glimpse of how their famous American sons are living on the English front these days when they visited the set of Walter Wangerls "Eagle Squadron" at Universal and saw a model flying field and some of the RAF's celebrated Spitfire planes. Above, they meet John Loder, who appears in the movie and who was a British army officer in tie First World War. The mothers, left to right, are Mrs. Ella MeGerty, Los Angeles, whose son, Tommy, was killed in an aerial battle over the English Channel in September, 1941; Mrs. P. E. Beaty, Burbank, Calif., mother of Pilot Officer Gregory A. Daymond, the No. 1 ace of the Eagle Squadron; Mrs. Murray Slauson Vosburg, Azusa, Calif., mother of Pilot Officer Murray Vosburg Jr., and Mrs. John E. Wallace, Pasadena, mother of Pilit Officer Thomas Cherry Wallace. November 3, 1947.
