Jap Jet Plane - The only jet-propelled plane the Japs built is displayed for the first time at Lockhead airport yesterday. "Shushu" as it was named, was built for the Jap navy and test flown but didn't get into combat. It has a 19-foot aluminum fuselage, plywood wings with a 30-foor spread, and a 325-pound jet engine that uses hydrogen peroxide. The plane, which the Japs copied from the German ME-163, was captured by occupation forces and brought to the United States for study. July 22, 1946. (Photo by AP Wirephoto)
