Rail Saloon Coaches for Princess Elizabeth Exclusive Pictures -- A view of the lounge, showing the settee, four easy chairs and small table. Two saloon coaches have been prepared at the London Midland Region railway workshops at Wolverton, Buckinghamshire, for use by Princess Elizabeth and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh. One saloon comprises a lounge with bedrooms, bathrooms, attendants compartments, and a compartment for heating water and diying clothes. The other is a dining saloon with accommodation for personal staff. The coaches are fitted with telephones throughout and are air-conditioned. February 12, 1948.
