Big difficulty of the AJC, in erecting a tower at Rand-wick from which race finishes can be photographed, is to prevent the structure from blocking the view in the official stand. An experimental tower was inspected by the AJC committee on Friday. This photo shows how the developing and printing room, represented by the hessian. would interfere with spectators. If the tower were raised higher than its present 43ft., the room would be out of the way, but heavy cross-supports would be needed, and they would be a serious obstruction. The best plan, to take the photos high up in the official stand, is not practicable at present. June 23, 1946.
