How It Looks To Land On A Carrier -- Aligned with the Deck, the 'Banshee' levels its wings, receives the "Roger" from the landing signal officer, and prepares to cut his Engines on signal from the L.S.O. Here is a Pilot's Eye-View of an Air Craft Carrier as he comes in to land. These unique Photographs were taken by a camera installed in the nose off a U.S. 'Sanshee' plane as it approached and then landed on the deck of the U.S.S. Essex. The Aircraft first Levels off in its approach, sets a "Cut" from The Landing signal officer, touches down, and comes to a perfect arrested landing. An Aerial camera with a 24 inch len was used with a red filter. February 10, 1955. (Photo by Paul Popper, Paul Popper Ltd.).
