The trial of 60 former memoers of the staff of the Mauthausen concentration camp, in Austria, opened at Dachau March 29, after an address to prosecuting and depending counsel by Lieutenant-General truscott ***** a speedy trial. After all the defendants had pleaded not Guilty", Lieutenant-colonel Benson, the chief prosecutor, opened the case by describing Mauthausen as an extermination centre where between 165,000 and 1,500,000 people had perished.
