Australian Oarsmen in England, who are hoping to form an eight to represent Australia in Olympic Games, have been holding trials on the Thames. Several combinations have been tried from amongst the twenty-three oarsmen so far available. Here one of the combinations shown, using a practice shell borrowed from the Thames rowing club, Putney. The crew is : Bow Graham Fisk (Sydney), 2 Brian Lloyd (Sydney), Colin Smith (Sydney), 4 Bill Lester, 5 Dr. James Guest OBE, (Melbourne), 6 Dr. William Woodward (Sydney), 7 Larry Foley (Sydney), Stroke Gordon Hill (Perth), Cox Peter Lawrence.
