When the years old practice of liquor drinking in the bars of ferries tied up at the Rottnest jetty was banned by the police, the ferry Islander (right) offered "round-the-island cruises" on which liquor was sold. Picture shows holidaymakers crowding aboard the Islander, while the ferry Zephyr-her bar doors locked-stands deserted on the other side of the jetty. May 05, 1952.
