Japanese Envoys To Guide British Fleet to Singapore -- Picture taken at Penang, when a Japanese Army and Naval envoys were received on board H.M.S. Nelson for preliminary surrender talks on August 29. It was arranged at this meeting that envoys would by sent up from Singapore to give information which would help the British East Indies Fleet units then at Penang and Sabang to make a safe passage down the Malacca Strait for the entry into Singapore after the signing of the surrender in Tokyo.
