Bob Scott's pride and joy is Bruce, his six-months old son. He's got a long way to grow before he can fill the shoes his famous father used is Australia, but Bob has great hopes for him. Here he is being given his first feel of a football held by his mother, Irene. Bob met his wife for the first time when she was a voluntary worker at Lady Freyberg's "Fern Leaf Club" in London during the Kiwi Rugby team's tour in 1945-46. They were married in Auckland a year later. This picture was taken in a corner of the single room in which they live in a house in Grey Lynn. The ball is one that was used in the first test against Australia last year. July 13, 1951.
