This photographs has a strong Rugby flavour, for the boys are talking to none other than George Nicholson, a member of the famous 1905 All Blacks. George is recalling to Bob and "Dobbie" the famous and much-disputed try scored by the New Zealander Deans in the match against Wales. "I was line umpire that day," says George, "and I saw it happen very clearly, far more clearly than the referee, who was 60 yards away at the time and could not possibly have seen what happened. Deans scored alright." George Nicholson is a bootmaker by profession, but he acts as custodian of the Ponsonny Club's shed and he joined the boys for a cup of morning tea while they were working on the building. June 11, 1948.
