Hollywood Gal. - The movie adaptation of John Steinbeck's novel., "The grades of wrath", will soon be released by 20th century fox. This story depicts the plight of an Oklahoma "Dust Bowl" family that migrated to California in search of work and good living conditions, but met with little or no success. In this scene from the picture some of the Joads are shown in the decrepit vehicle that carried them and their possessions west. Henry Fonda as Lom Joad is driving: beside him sits Jane Darwell as Ma Joad. Shirley mills and Darryl Hickman are on top of the truck. "The Grapes of Wrath," starring Henry Fonda, was a top choice among members of the National Film Preservation Board in considering movies that will designated film "treasures". March 26, 1942.
