James Doolittle visited their operational H.Q. in England, Formed at Tucson, Arizona, in January 1943 the Group has operated from Britain and Africa, winning battle honours which include Berlin four daylight visits - Ploesti, Rome, winner-Neustadt and targets in Italy.
