An American Center of Theatre Arts - The New York City Dance Theatre presents "Fables of our Time" based on cartoons and dialogue by the contemporary American humorist, James Thurber, with choreography by the American dancer Charles Weidman. The humer, projected by gestures and distortions of homely, everyday movements, is concerned with American social behavior, The dance was part of the initial seasson's repertoire of Dance Theatre which gave its first performances in December 1949. The Dance Theatre is part of the New York City Center, a non-profit, private organization which also presents open, ballet and drama at modestly-scaled prices. April 04, 1952.
