Horyuji Temple - Showing a poetic sense of balance, the five-storied pagoda is the most beautiful and conspicuous building comprising the Horyuji Temple structures. Extending to a height of 34 meters, it main support is a central post shooting straight up from the foundation to the top of the annulated tower. The corner stone of the pagoda contains the ashes of the image of Buddha placed there more than 1,300 years ago by Prince Shotoku. March 5, 1941. (Photo by Japan Photo Library, Inc.).
