Veteran British Jalopies In London-Brighton "Run" -- Lord Montague in his 1903 De Dion Bouton two seater after he arrived in Brighton. With him is Mrs. E.G.Wyndham. Despite rumours to the contrary, the British are a very sentimental people. First on their list of affections come animals, second -- a very close second -- ancient automobiles. Old crock worship reaches its zenith each year with the annual run between London and the seaside resort of Brighton, some 50 miles a way. Some 150 grandpa's chariots competed this year in the run, held last Sunday, and most of them made it. Some only took three hours, and brother, that's really burning rubber where these cars are concerned. November 14, 1955.
