From their secret laboratory in Acton, London, two young inventors drove to Birmingham with an engine which they believe will revolutionize the car industry. It is the first gas turbine car engine, the smallest in the world and it will be on view at the opening of the British Industries Fair at Birmingham to-day. The inventors, R.H.H. Barr and G. White, two of the country's leading "boffins", call their engine, only 15 inches in diameter and five feet long, "The Broomstick"; it will run on any kind of fuel - and heralds the gearless clutchless and radiatorless car of the near future.
