Prince Esterhazy Leaps To Defend Employee During Trial. Prince Esterhazy, charged with Mindszenty and five otters, was sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment, confiscation of property and loss of rights for ten years. Seated next to Esterhazy is Dr. Andras Zackar, private secretary to Cardinal Mindszenty, who was sentenced to six years imprisonment and ten years loss of rights. All defendants were found guilty of treason, conspiracy against the Republic, and black market currency dealings. The Cardinal received life imprisonment. February 10, 1949.
