This is the portrait of the Queen painted by Mr. William A. Dargie. Mr. Dargie arrived in Australia on Sunday with the portrait, which he painted from four sittings given by the Queen at Buckingham Palace before Christmas. The portraits was commissioned by the late Mr. James P. Beveridge, of Melbourne. It will be hung in Parliament House, Canberra. January 14, 1955.
