Mr. Maurice Brain year - old Brighton - store-keeper and spare-time artist, beside his 7 ft. portrait in oils of Her Majesty The Queen, which he painted to commemorate the Coronation. It took him four months working every evening and at week-ends from photographs of the queen in her Coronation robes. He has been unable to find a buyer for it - it was offered to several large stores but they all said it was too big. Now the British Legion will accept it to hang in the Earl ******.
