Technical Sergeant Thomas W. Nulty (left) of Rochester, N.Y., and Major Alexander Guerry (right) of Sewanee, Tenn., awarded the Legion of Merit for outstanding work in New Guinea. Guerry was the pilot and Nulty the photographer of a Fifth Air Force plane which photographed the combined operations to seize Nadzab airdrome and invest the Markham Valley bombing paratroops descending invasion barges all of which provided excellent photographs for invasion training purposes, as well as public information.
