English Woman 'Floats In Heaven': The balloon Mrs. Pritchard went up in. Neatly dressed in a dove grey costume and a hat with spreading seagullwings, Mrs. Mary Pritchard stepped into a balloon at White Waltham (Berks), yesterday afternoon. Fifty minutes later, she stepped out into a field of barley twenty-five miles away at Mortimer, near Reading-and not a feather in her hat was disturbed. "It was just like floating in heaven," she said. "It was marvellous, unreal. All you could hear was dogs barking below and the church bells.' Mrs. Pritchard, 51, wife of the secretary of the Royal Aeronautical Society, is the first Englishwoman to make a Balloon flight for thirty-six years. She went as a passenger with M. Charles Dollfuss, leading French balloonist. May 15, 1950.
