From the trolleys, the trays are placed in the GEC Furnaces, resulting in the formation of solid uranium tetra fluoride. Details have been released today (Monday) of an order for atomic equipment worth about $500,000 placed by the Ministry of Supply with the General Electric Co. Ltd. The equipment is for use in the conversion of pure ammonium diuranate to metallic uranium and these pictures show some of the plant in use at the Ministry's Spring field factory near Preston, Lancashire.
