Rush Of Volunteers. Trainers and jockey from Moorefield racecourse were among the many who responded to an appeal by the Red Cross blood transfusion service for donors to aid 18-year-old Joyce Hanna, daughter of Moorefield horse trainer, George Hanna, and a man in St. George District Hospital, both of whom were badly burned. On the right, jockey George Podmore leads the volunteers up the stairs to the blood bank. February 24, 1949.
