No "Basic" Needed -- Mr. Bullock on his electric cycle. It is absolutely noiseless, climbs steep hills, and has only one fault - it develops too much speed to easily on the flat! Determined not to be deprived of mechanical locomotion by the abolition of basic petrol, Mr. Tom Bullock, of Berrington street, Herreford, has devised a method of transport which will be envied by errand boys. It is an electric bicycle driven by a 12 volt car battery. He bought a second-hand bicycle, fixed a small carriage on it to carry battery and starter-motor; the machine is chain driven, has lights and a born powered off the same battery. January 13, 1948.
