Girls With Bags Of Mystery? - Well - They Are Scottish Haggis -- Girls in picture are preparing "chieftains of the pudding race", name given to Haggis by Scotland's national poet, Robert Burns. To the unitiated - or to those who are not Scots - the haggis has always remained a bit of a mystery, but we will let you into the secret:- it is a calf's, sheep's or other animal's heart, liver and lungs boiled in the stomach of the animal and served with seasoning. Of course a Scotsman will add to the mystery by saying there is also that extra little something which makes all the difference. No Burns Night or other Scottish feast is complete without haggis. January 1, 1951.
