Pontresina: Life in the High Alps of Switzerland -- The Chambermaid: 18-year-old Albina Bergasin is a typical, healthy, rosy-checked and sun-tanned girls of the Engadin. Like chambermaids and housewives all over Switzerland she takes out the duck-feather stuffed eiderdowns of every bedroom for a thorough airing. Albina's sense of duty and cleanliness is monumental; but she likes to work and cleanliness is easy to achieve where dust is an unknown phenomenon. - During off-seasons (in Spring and Autumn) when hotels are closed, Albina goes home to her parents at Schleuss, another mountain village in the Engadin.
