The traditional opening ceremony of the Tay Salmon Rod-fishing season took place yesterday at Kenmore Perthshire, when Miss A. Rae, manageress of the Broadalbane hotel, broke a bottle of whisky over the bows of one of the boats on Loch Tay to start the season. January 16, 1952.
