Moscow's Schoolchildren Are Fire-Fighters -- During one of Nazi air raids on Moscow over 150 incendiary bombs were dropped on a children's camp in Moscow suburbs. Staff, with the help of children, promptly extinguished them. 10 children who distinguished themselves were given prizes, which they promptly contributed to the defence fund. Children are seen, placing fire-extinguishers on a roof. In the foreground is Mitya Afonin who extinguished 8 bombs. January 2, 1942. (Photo by London News Agency Photos).
