Manj 790 - When Mrs. H. E. Pearson, wife of Captain H. E. Pearson of 119 Wattle Grove, Bedale, East yorkshire, U.K. arrived in Japan just one year ago, she started to collect saki bowls. Since that time Mrs. Pearson has collected over 70 different types and hopes to have a hundred by the time she returns to the U.K. Captain Pearson is a member of the British Commonwealth Occupation Force Field Security Team which has been stationed at Okayama, on the Island of Honshu. Sake is a rice wine and is the national drink of Japan. It is always served in tiny bowls, some verieties of which are very beautiful. September 24, 1953.
