The Relief Of Guernsey And Bark -- Mr and Mrs. Winifred Green of "Psycho-Sarichers", St. Peters Ports Guernsey. During the occupation Mrs. Green was waitress in the Royal Hotel, and it was her Job to serve the German officers. On one occasion the Germans after having held a Conference gave the usual "Heil Hitler" salute. Immediately Mrs. Winifred Green retaliated by retorting "Heil Churchill". She wee clapped into jail for six months imprisonment. These photographs, taken on May 14th., and 16th, show the people of Guernsey and Sark receiving their first British provisions since 1940. July 30, 1945.
