Reg Roberts is back from a prison camp in Korea, and is he home! Feet up, and a cup of tea from his wife -the first cup of tea under his own roof for many a grim day. It's a long way - 14,000 miles - from Pyukdong to Peckham, and what a difference Rifleman Reg found when he arrived at "lovely old Hooks-road" yesterday. Bunting instead of barbed wire, smiling friends instead of sentries. Sister Iris married that very day, and ?400 back pay to come. Reg, boy - you're home. Flags greeted a Bermondsey hero, too, when Fusilier George Hodkinson came home, with his D.C.M. May 5, 1953. (Photo by Daily Mirror).
