Arrest - Constable M. Nevins searches a young man in Nairn Street, Darling, early today. On left is Constable R. Michell, who leaped out of the police car (right) and made the arrest. A car carrying suspected car thieves crashed through two barbed-wire fences in at attempt to elude a police patrol in a wild dawn chase at Darling today. It all began when the patrol crew -- Senior Constable Walters and Constables Mann and Kent - out on another job, sighted a car in Dunlop Street near Darling Station. They tried to intercept it, but it swung around a corner and the patrol raced after it. The car led the police up and down streets for about 1? miles. then swung into a blind street. April 22, 1955.
