Gale Stops Demonstration Of German Rotary Wing "Kite" - R.A.F. men helping Squadron Leader F.J. Cable from the "kite" after heavy winds had smashed the rotary blades and tail. Strong winds held up a demonstration of a German Focke-Achgelis auto-rotative wing "kite" at the R.A.F. Station, near Southampton. The "kite" invented by the Germans is towed by a submarine and used for spotting and observation work. It had been found amongst captured German war material and assembled by R.A.F. technicians
