All-Round Sportsman Forbes Carlile, Demonstrates a new electrical device to assist judge in the NSW epee (fencing) title at the YWCA on September 4. Carlile is a finalist in the epee event. The apparatus which is being used for the first time in Australia, has a small contact point on the tip of the epee which when hit with a pressure of more than 3lb, closes a circuit. lights a torch bulb and rings a buzzer strapped to the fencer's side.
