This Calvary erected on the lonely foreshore at Port Jeanne D'Arc Kerguelen by the members of a French scientific Mission bears the inscription. "In recognition of the benefits that Divine Providence has accorded us during our voyage and our stay at Kerguelen, we have erected this Calvary which we place under the safeguard, and recommend to pious cases of all these who come here after us."
