Veterant Is Dwarfed -- Though she is 8,000 tons less displacement the new United States aircraft carrier 'Valley Forge apparently dwarfs the British battleship 'Duke of York' as she arrives at this British naval base on her round-the-world goodwill cruise. The carrier, 27,000 tons is latest of the 'Essex' class to be commissioned and has complement of about 100 planes. She was commissioned in November, 1946. The 'Duke of York', second World War veteran, displaces 35,000 tons. May 6, 1948.
