Satellite image of the thunderstorm complex containing the world's longest single lightning flash to be captured. The megaflash lightning on the 29th of April 2020, stretched across the central coast of Texas, USA to southern Mississippi, USA. It measured a horizontal distance of 767 kilometres. Image obtained by the geostationary lightning mapper on NOAA's Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites 16 (GOES-16) satellite.
