The famous Cantonese array of choice morsels known as dim sum (or, in Mandarin, dian xin) have become popular the world over. They are often served as brunch or a snack in small steamer baskets. Among the great variety of treats are dumplings of pork or seafood wrapped in transparent rice-dough wrappers; stuffed mushrooms or chilli peppers; deep-fried yam balls; and tiny spring rolls.
